    Re:Study Buddy

I've got baby fever atm  for the last like week I keep having dreams about being pregnant, giving birth and stuff. And when I went shopping on Saturday with my aunt I was staring through the mothercare window for like half an hour cooing at the tiny little baby clothes.

Theres something wrong with me

I was also staring through Mothercare's window yesterday but only 'cos there was a seagull trapped inside constantly pecking at the glass... stupid bird.

Or maybe this was a dream too? Anyone care to analyse this?

Maybe the bird represents you, and you're trying to get away from baby things... hmm... your girlfriend wants a baby!

Anyway, I don't know how old ka8 is but you're way way too young to be thinking of having children yourself Gem, unless you're planning an appearance on Jeremy Kyle sometime soon...

"Pushing a melon through" WTF?

Theres nothing wrong with having a baby young. If you're in a stable relationship, can afford, and want one, whats wrong with it? :P

My aunty had her first when she was 17, and my uncle had his first when he was 19, and he wasnt even married! But granted he had been with his older partner for nearly 2 years and they'd bought a house together.

I'm not being serious anyway, I'm just broody :(

I need a puppy or something to keep me busy :P

I think most us are aware that people who have children young in this day and age rarely stay together long enough to see the childs first, never mind fifth birthday. Living in a particularly chavvy seaside town, I see loads of young single mothers every day and I personally know four! (Not mine by the way, I feel the need to add!)

A stable relationship in your teens doesn't mean it will still be stable once you're in your twenties...

That is a fair point, but some of us teens have morals :P and it depends what you class as stable. To me it's being together about five years and living together/married.

And it goes the other way too, if you're in a stable relationship in your twenties it doesn't mean it will be stable in your 30's and so forth.

Stable is having been together for longer than five minutes and making a solid, responsible and justifiable decision to bring a new life into the world. And I know "youngsters" will disagree but I believe responsibilities such as this usually only come with age and life experience.

I agree with you about the 30's thing - and I'm divorced with 3 children too - but in answer, I'd have to refer you back to my first paragraph for why we had them.

All I know is that I think I'm getting to being 'ready'.

Sometimes I feel about 35 rather than 18  :P

Thats another reason too - I can't carry a child until my thyroid is sorted out! I think thats made me think about it more and thats what has made me feel like this. When I was 14 and found out there was a only a slight chance I'd be able to get pregnant until I was 19, then there'd be no chance, I wanted a baby even then!

I always remember at the age of 14 being told that child birth was awful and that has stuck with me and having to babysit 3 neices and 3 nephews, well I think all young girls who want to be mothers should have a week long crash course with no sleep and crying baby.... I dont need that cos im already put off.

Lol when I was 13/14 I did a course in child minding and I had to have one of those virtual babies for a week! And it didn't put me off at all. It cried all day and cried all night but it didn't bother me much tbh. It's so unlife-like though. I've babysitted babies since I was 12 and none of them were as bad as that doll :P

And for instance if you were in the car with a baby and it cried to have a nappy change you'd wait until you got to wherever you were going then change it, but with the doll you had to change it there and then otherwise it registered as neglect!

My mother had a very traumatic birth with my brother, but that hasn't put me off either, I know it would be horrible, but I'm very aware that it does happen

My comment was not specifically aimed at you but young girls in general, seeing my sister-in-law in such a state after giving birth to 8lb 11oz baby just did it for me and she always wanted babies even after 3 misscarriages and a still born, so I agree if you really want one you will but girls who think it all roses would have their eyes opened and I was talking about inflicting a real life baby not a dummy
