For yuppies?
What are yuppies?
Sorry if you lot all know but im guessing your all from down south so might all know what Gem is on about but i dont have a clue
There's only a couple of us from down south and I'm originally a northener so there :P
A yuppie is a young professional, basically. Paul explained to me :P0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Are you sure, Gem?
:oops:0 -
Re:Study Buddy
God, takes me back to the time when Harry Enfield was still funny...
I'm a scummie myself - southern counties upwardly m...?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Yuppies sounds like such a negative type of people though
Definately doesn't portray a young professional to me lol

Re:Study Buddy
It's an 80's thing. Young, loaded etc etc.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
They're portrayed as arrogant sometimes, thats why I'm in two minds about going. I dont want to be in a 'my jobs better than yours, well my cars better than yours, my laptops better than yours' situation0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Are they being ironic? Maybe you just need big shoulder pads in your jacket?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Gem you could always reply with my Study Buddies are better than yours :P0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I need to get a belt so I can wear my phone on it, and I need a PDA, and I'll wear my sunglasses inside :P0 -
Re:Study Buddy
They'd think I was really sad if I mentioned study buddies :shock:0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I'm off, byeee0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Gem,
A young wannabe professional, the sort of people you MOSTLY speak to at recruitment agencies, people who leave messages like this (example from earlier today)
"Message for Paul, if you could give me a call back to touch base, and have some initial dialogue, that would be great"0 -

Just go in with an attitude like that Patrick guy from 'American Psycho'. Nastiest "book" aka sick fantasy I ever 'read'.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Yeah, I have to say that with arranging the two interviews I have got on Friday, there was none of that. Just two professional agents, who were there to find me job opportunities.0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Rightio Im off
Bye0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I have that book on my shelf waiting to be read. Im on two others at the moment!0 -
Re:Study Buddy
I'm puzzled by how anyone can love it unless you happen to be into very graphic descriptions of hardcore torture and murder... I'm not squeamish and personally think it's a despicable book dressed as art but I guess that's supposed to be the irony of it.CJC wrote:

Chris - maybe you should be in Hellen's gang after all?!
