Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
They've probably gone dooing something really fun like a tourists attraction to Speaker's Corner at hyde Park in London... maybe they can talk between themselves and learn from one another what humour is.0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
It normally involves going somewhere by coach.
Eastbourne? Brighton? Milton Keynes?
They always go on the 2nd Monday in July - after the exams, but before the results...0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
They're not in Milton Keynes as all systems are running correctly here!0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
Must be somewhere in Sussex. Rob said the system was slow this morning.
:shock:0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
I think they're busy trying to find out where the e-mail went that said they'd won the IT award...0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
I know this is a lighthearted thread but seriously - where are they? We've seen or heard nothing from them for ages and I find it almost comtemptuous.
If our own tiny community here wasn't online so much, there'd be little reason to keep the Forums open at all. It reminds me of a small group of die-hard regulars meeting up in the snug of a pub that's long been awaiting the arrival of the wrecking ball.
It might be a bit far fetched but do you think maybe this is their aim? Is it really now just us little lot keeping the Forums alive for old times sake?

Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
When I move I wont have internet access at home, and I wont be able to use it at work, so I will be extinct from the forums!! :shock:0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
I must admit a couple of years ago there was a lot more people logged on. In fact at some points it did actually used to crash the forums because so many people used to visit. However, since the problems, there are very rarely anymore than at least 10 or 11 people logged on.
It is hardly surprising considering this website has been (by and large) pretty useless. A couple of years ago towards exam time there were a lot of questions being posted. This time around, I did notice a vast reduction in the number of questions posted.
To be honest I think they have given up trying to repair it. After all, why spend all that money on a website when it isn't used that much??

I believe it is referred to as Catch 220 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
I'm just wondering if anything gets mentioned in either the AAT magazine (by letter from someone) or in the other magazines such as PQ about the website - particularly when it all crashed the weekend before the exams.

Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
This is the feeling I've been getting too and there's been no recent response from Anna or anyone else to dispel it.peugeot wrote:To be honest I think they have given up trying to repair it. After all, why spend all that money on a website when it isn't used that much??
I wouldn't be too surprised to see it pulled totally soon so maybe we should find somewhere else pretty sharpish where we can continue to gather? Anyone know any other good Forums where we'd be allowed to "do what we do"?0 -

I sent a couple of letters in at various times...they were filed in the bin!

I hear there's a really cool place to congregate called Smutty Accountants :-)0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
Due to popular concern (well J.) it's been renamed as 'Accounts Unleashed' - so at least it looks sort of serious if your boss happens to catch you

Try www.accountancystudents.co.uk
The moderators are fabulous (you'll see what I mean if you join) and there is no grief - I can't remember the forum ever not working unless it was planned (and notified) maintenance.

I think it will die completely before they have a chance to pull it.0 -

Can I assume that I'd have to behave or tone down a little more if I was to defect over there though? I'm admittedly crap at sometimes staying within acceptable decorum guidelines!0 -
Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
They're quite a chilled out bunch over on the accountancy students forum. There are the odd ones that post a load of garbage but overall they're quite relaxed. It's not very often a war breaks out on there!
I'm slowly but surely deflecting over to them. My articles are being moved over to there because of the problems on here.

Re:AAT Annual Day Trip
Yes, but that's the best part sometimes since it gives me the opportunity to indulge my not so good side!peugeot wrote:It's not very often a war breaks out on there!
What exactly are you deflecting over there Steve?peugeot wrote:I'm slowly but surely deflecting over to them

Thanks but in return, perhaps I could give you a wee spot of training on how to get your quotes right, Hellen?0 -

Not being rude or anything Janine, but your avatar ("Jesus-in-a-chocolate-snowball", wasn't it?) makes me wanna puke!0 -
