Hi

Could i just say thanks again to eeryone who gave me their advice/opinions on ACCA & CIMA courses.

I have decided to do ACCA, which doesn't really benefit my role at the moment but it will in the future hopefully.

I've chosen to do it Home Study via BPP and was just wondering if anyone else has done it this way. If so did you find it ok doing it on your own!!

Thanks

Carole

    Re:THANKS

    Hi Carole

I studied AAT with BPP. At the time it was not possible for me to attend regular college classes.

I found the materials very good. They provided plenty of exercises and past papers and the revision tapes (probably CDs now) were great. I think I also bought a couple of other study texts to get some addtional practice questions. I found that if I was stuck it helped to read up on the same subject written in a different style.

It can be lonely studying on your own, but you might be able to overcome this if you can find ways to meet up with other students on the same course.

The one stumbling block I had was being able to speak to my personal tutor at appropriate times. I had to be quite strict with my study times because of other commitments and I found it frustrating that my tutor was often not available to speak to me at a time that suited me. I'm sure you can picture the scenario - settle down to study for a couple of hours, need some help after 15 minutes, wait 3 hours for the tutur to call you :(

Also, check where you will have to go to sit the exams and make sure it is feasible.

    Good luck with your studies
