Re:Study Buddy
I haven't used Vista yet - don't think I will til it's been out a while longer so they have time to recognise fatal flaws and fix the bugs they will no doubt find loads of - plus I hear a few things aren't compatible.
Get onto ebay and buy a cam for a quid, better still - put the name of the web cam maker into Google and put Vista compatible Driver and see what comes up.
You might want to uninstall all the other useless drivers you put on too - depending on how many you installed you may have loads trying to start on boot-up which would slow down boot time :-)0 -
Re:Study BuddyBaggybooks wrote:Gem7321 wrote:Yeah normally it's really easy. Plug it in, click install, next next next and it works :?
So how does someone watch it? Do you send a link?
Very good Helen, pretending you have never broadcasted :-)0 -
Re:Study Buddy
If you're on msn or yahoo or something click start my webcam and when the other person accepts they can see you

Re:Study Buddy
Webcams are easy to use
And sometimes they can be fun to watch0 -
Re:Study Buddy
But if I had one, how would someone be able to watch?0 -
Re:Study BuddyBaggybooks wrote:But if I had one, how would someone be able to watch?
If you had msn or AIM or yahoo then whoever is talking to you just clicks the start webcam icon and you get the option to accept or decline the request to view your webcam0 -
Re:Study Buddy
You would get an unsuspecting man call at your door to "Service your Boiler" he'll say he needs to install a "Electrical Device" in the corner of the room and trail a wire back to the PC - he'll then say he needs to "configure" the electrical device to broadcast to a certain URL in order to maintain a healthy central heating system of course :-)
Anyone who decides to go to the URL will be pleasantly suprised when they see you unawares, ironing your bits and pieces :-)0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Im getting the feeling Helen doesnt have any of those0 -

Re:Study Buddy
No MSN or any of the other apps mentioned.
Still off the smokes J?0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Maybe I won't do it. Sounds like I need to know things which I know nothing about.

Re:Study Buddy
No, unfortuntely, I succombed to the pressure of having a smoking (hot) fiancee.
I am currently on 5 cigs a day and quite happy with it. I have lost some weight now though - I think... 12st 2 now I am wearing work pants that became a little too snug on me, now they are a nice fit :-)0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Good on you (I think) 5 cigarettes is nothing mate0 -
Re:Study Buddy
Apparently you can still smoke in stoke on trent0 -
Re:Study BuddyBaggybooks wrote:Maybe I won't do it. Sounds like I need to know things which I know nothing about.
Not really, you go to ebay, search for "Webcam" make sure you don't buy it from Japan cos they're really bad. Pay up to a tenner including posatage, await delivery.
Install software (important you install software before plugging in device (well, for 99.9% of web cam installations this is the case)) when prompted plug in the Camera via USB to the PC, configure it.
Go to google, type "MSN Live Messenger" click Download - install. Open new program, click "Contacts > Add Contacts" > choose "Add Contact from Email Address" input "jamieleeuk@hotmail.com" click OK, when I come online I'll see "Red-Hot-Baggy-Books has added you to her friends" then i'll send you a message, it'll appear in it's own fancy little window.
There's an avatar too, if your camera is installed and configured to work with your PC then a small icon will appear in the corner of your avatar. All you have to do is click on it and then wait for me to compose myself and accept viewing your live feed :-)
Easy as that!0 -
