I have sat the June FRA paper and know that I did not pass. I think that I passed the ECR paper. The problem with the FRA paper was that all through the course the tutor taught from a theortical point of view. I have done business courses in the past, but found that by the lecturer not using t-accounts on the lecture notes that is made it very difficult. I thinking about doing the ABC Bookkeeping and want to know how tough it is? Also I read somewhere that the AAT is meant to be open access. I think if I am prepared to sit the FRA exam with any that would be taken if I did the technician stage I think that I should be able to. I think it highlights the limitation of only being able to the AAT exams in June and December.

    Hi Richard.

The ABC bookkeeping course leads you onto Foundation level - if you are already an Intermediate student it will be too low a level for you.

    Hi Richard

Why do you think you have failed FRA? Is it the double entry bookkeeping entries that you have difficulty with? If you want to use ABC bookkeeping course as a refresher - to get back to basics - I'd be tempted to give it a go.It's CD based so you could do it over the summer before the new term starts. I presume that you didn't take Foundation because of the business courses you had already done.

Does your college not allow you to go on to Technician if you haven't passed all of Intermediate?
Some colleges do - a girl on my course went on, but she found it very difficult as she hadn't grasped the basics. Don't know if this applies in your case.
