Borrowed from Accounting Web - now that is a serious site...
"11 July - Call me Paul
International recruitment agency Badenoch & Clark surveyed over 25,000 professionals and found that Paul is the number one name for male accountants.
Funnily enough, the same goes for solicitors too. The number two slots differ, though, with Robert and Steve being the second most popular names for accountants, and Richard for lawyers. Researchers expressed disappointment over an inability to find a real-life Perry Mason, although they did discover four Judge Jefferysรขโฌโขs.
More colourful names thrown up by the survey include Farmer Giles, Peugeot, Wrangler and Blobbyh."

Re:Names
Why I am not surprised that Paul is the number one name for accountants?!0 -
Re:Names
And why is it you feel that a post on here contains an accurate quote?
Surely you didn't think there were accountants out there called Peugeot? Did you?

Re:Names
For those that haven't nodded off yet, here is the link to the actual article.

No comment on what the most popular name for female accountants is.

Has he thrown in the towel? Could it be that we living dead are getting the better of him. :twisted:0 -
Re:Names
Lesson 1.
Just because someone posts on the Off-topic Forum, doesn't mean they do not have your intelligence, knowledge or experience.
Lesson 2.
Never comment on what you read before verifying the source. As an MIP you must read everything carefully.
Lesson 3.
Don't men love a bit of flattery - even when they are trying to maintain a level of indignance?

Re:Names
Is "indignance" a new word? wouldn't "Indignation" have been better?

Re:Names
Possibly - but what would I know? I've been locked in the off-topic forum for a few weeks now.
My grey cells are being depleted, they're even being sucked from my grey suit.
OMG! Let me out, I need to get back to work - I need to focus on the really important things in life like inflating my portfolio.0 -
Re:Names
I suppose it's better than "inflating your ego"!0 -
Re:Names
No - it is a proper word. Paul has just sent me a PM. He's still broadening his vocabulary and has reached chapter 9.

Re:Names
you guys really are good sport - I had seen the artcle when it came out so new that my name wasn't tops, but I've enjoyed reading the banter between you both all the same. Actually this forum is great fun after all. Maybe I will come on here more often!0 -

High Fives!0 -
Re:Names
Hang on a minute. We will have to have a vote first. Always do things democratically. One black ball and you're out.
I think then we will need a committee meeting to appoint a sub committee to discuss whether you are insane enough to be invited to join our off topic forum. We'll send you an AAT e-mail so don't hold your breath.0 -
Re:Names
I'm not looking at anyone's balls - black or not.

Re:Names
Are you being derelict in your duties again? you knew when you accepted the post that you would have to inspect the balls.0 -
Re:Names
OK. If you insist.
I just get a bit scared by it all. Peugeot was the worst. Nearly pulled a muscle lifting his.0 -

Re:Names
There can only be one FG. Unique in everyway! They broke the mould after creating FG, same as they lost the plans after creating frankenstein!

Re:Names
I didn't come from a mould, I think I hatched out of something

Re:Names
I'm very honoured that you feel 'One' should be spelt with a capital O, Farmer G, for I do feel kinda God-like at times...farmergiles wrote:We have to be unique! Can you honestly imagine life with more than One Blobbyh?

(That was a joke by the way for the people who don't know me too well - and even for some of those that do...)0 -
Re:Names
Yes - but even your jokes are said with that deep, serious growl - so you have to forgive us for not knowing...0 -
Re:Names
