I'm collecting for the Battle of Britain Wings Appeal, shopping, snoozing and then editing a magazine on Sunday.

Re:Mid- afternoon slump
Good old Baggy, never been in the RAF and not a member of RAFA but out there dragging in the funds for RAFA. Well done, Helen, I salute you.
I think you should be made an honorary member of RAFA for all the help you give us.0 -
Re:Mid- afternoon slump
I do two collections a year for them. It isn't much, but I've collected quite a sum over the past few years.
As well as helping those that were in the Battle of Britain, it also supports members of the RAFA that need help from more recent conflicts.
I've also helped with the Poppy Appeal. I find it difficult to understand why war widows have to rely on charity to visit their spouse's graves overseas.
Obviously the funds are used for other things too, but I can't begin to imagine the anguish of losing a partner and then not being able to visit their memorial.
Giving up a few hours each year is pretty insignificant.0 -
Re:Mid- afternoon slump
Baggy...A hard exterior but a soft centre. I thank you on behalf of all my fellow members of RAFA for giving up those few hours every year to help out. We wish more people would help out.0 -
Re:Mid- afternoon slump
There's nothing hard about me - just people's perception.
'Get on do' is my motto.

The weekend... hmmm... installing a ColdFusion server locally to have a play with, taking a look at Flex Builder, keeping on learning Illustrator and continuing teaching a friend html/css. Yes, sadly, I do do this stuff for fun.
Did I hear someone say 'geek'?

Re:Mid- afternoon slump

Some of us just cannot help it, even though we knew the English were in for a thumping, we have to put ourselves through it, pfftt.0 -

Re:Mid- afternoon slump
I have a Irish friend who sent me this recently, I believe its doing the rounds so you may have seen it already. Bloody Paddys.
For Sale:
One Bitter-sweet Chariot. Formally a good runner but now in need of complete overhaul including replacement parts. No longer swinging low. The wheels have come off. Past it's best. Definitely a long term project. Free to good home.0 -
Re:Mid- afternoon slump
The Irish haven't played that much better, they were rubbish last time out! The Welsh need to pick up their game as well. The Scots play on Tuesday, lets see if my home team can put the rest to shame!0 -
Re:Mid- afternoon slump
My God, I thought we were going to do a mid-afternoon therapy session together (problem aired problem shared and all that), then you go and tell me your a Scot:shock: .....FG, thats just cruel.

So, is that the rugby natter over? Can we move on to something else? Like...anything else?0 -
Re:Mid- afternoon slump
There are quite a few matches left before we get to the quarter finals so plenty to talk about, especially when England don't reach the quarters, the only home team that might stand a chance of doing that might be Ireland, if they pull their socks up!0 -

Re:Mid- afternoon slump
Their poor form so far may hinder their chances though,IMO England havent a chance against considering their up-coming opposition.
Baggybooks, go put the kettle on, one sugar, semi skimmed milk, theres a good girl.

Now that was a reasonable response, quite calm, almost un-nerving, am I to suffer an accident at a later date? :? 0 -
