unit 10 4000 words!!

does the 4000 words include the whole project even the part about the company background, I am trying to make a start on it now but a :oops: bit confused about which parts are included in the word count, any help much appreciated.

    If I remember correctly yes the company background is included. Don't think any appendices are.

    Well done if you've made a start - that's the worst bit over! Oh apart from once you start it's getting everything in within 4000 words.

    I found that once I had done the co background bit and got into the swing the rest came fairly easily.
    The first time my tutor saw it she said everything was there it was just a matter of presentation. Could have done with that link at the time!

    I left mine really late.....after the exams, but wish i'd started earlier as it took about 1 day to write and type.
    Presentation is important but the AAT website provides loads of info on that and 4000 words - it is not as bad as it sounds as everything is included except appendices.

    I'm about to embark on this project and a bit unsure, but will try. It's interesting that this took you 1 day SareG? I read somewhere else it took someone a year, hmm, so I have a good idea what to do it on, I wonder how long it will take. Thanks to the person who wrote this guide by the way, it's excellent and I'll try to use it.

    Did you write about the company background as a whole or just the few people involved in the system you were looking at?

    Mine was only a small company so I explained each member of staffs role within the company. If it had been a bigger company I would only have included those that were involved.

    Do we actually have to implement something, or can we just discuss possibilities? I hope it's quite open, I don't like following specific guidelines to the book, for example naming people we work with and discussing our jobs exactly
