Hi,
Can anybody tell me what qualifications are required to teach AAT? I am a full AAT member since 1999 and have just started a City & Guilds 7307 preparing to teach course.
Thanks, Lisa

Re:Teaching AAT
Hi
Generally what you have/are doing is ok. The college you teach at will probably want you to have the assesor qualifcations too (unless someone else does the assessing). These cover the structure and assessment rationale of NVQs, they are generic but you usually take them on the job and involve putting together a potfolio of work that you have marked. Like I said, their done on the job and don't really take too much.

Thanks Neil,
Do you teach yourself?

Re:Teaching AAT
Hi Lisa
I dont teach myself, but I took the assesor qualifcations a few years back when I was a student (studying animal management!) and did some teaching and assessing then. The assessor awards are generic, so once you have them you can assess for any NVQ for which you have the requisite skills and knowledge (usually in the form of formal qualifications).
