Foolishly I've left our CIS return till today - usually send it by post, but thought I'd try submitting online in view of the postal situation.
BUT I'm going round in circles! When I get to the end it comes up with an error - "You have entered a Unique tax reference (UTR) of an existing subcontractor. Please amend your entry."
It is for an existing subcontractor I'm trying to submit!!
Am I missing something?
A very :? Jan

Re:CIS - Help
And where is Helen when I need her? On holiday, how dare she ?
Isn't she our resident CIS on-line specialist?

Re:CIS - Help
I signed up for paying VAT online but don't like the fact that once you do, you have to do it all the time from thereon and won't get the paper versions in the future.
Personally, I like receiving the HMRC paperwork since it serves as a constant reminder when nailed to my dartboard, otherwise I'll forget!

Re:CIS - Help
I tried to sign up to VAT online and got them to send my registration cert as they needed the date I was registered from (how am I supposed to remember that). I then completed all the info, but every time I go back in, I still get asked for the same crud - so have given up and will try again in Feb or March when I am not quite so busy and have got a couple of days to go round HMRC helplines

I was going to sign up for online VAT - call me old fashioned, but I still favour pen & paper for some things! Having had a bad experience with on line filing PYE (my first time last year) I am very reluctant to change.0 -
