Ive been asked to help a friend with the booking keeping for her shop she has just opened.
It is a coffee and gift shop, and I'm planing on using exel spreadsheets.
I plan to record the takings on one sheet and expenditure under type on another. I'm unsure on the cashbook and not all takings are banked.
I have record of the daily takings and what as been bought cash from these takings.
Can anyone give me any advices on the easiest way to do the spreadsheet that will meet the needs of the accountant as i'm studying ACCA i can only go to trial balance and although I've done the theoy and passed the aat exams I not had to put it into practice before.
Any tip would be grateful
Thanks

Re:shop accounts help
a simple cash book would consist of receipts on the left and payments on the right. Any non bank items would be cash payments done through the cash account.
If you aren't experienced in this, I would consider not doing the work as it is just going to cause you more problems in the long run.
Kind regards
