Its only early October and already people are going on endlessly about Christmas, Christmas dinners, Christmas decorations and other such rubbish. Home Alone girl (if any of you remember) said she is visiting the hotel where Home Alone 2 was filmed.
What is going on!
Sorry for the rant.

Re:arghh Christmas!
Adverts are already on TV.
I've had to send out menus and invites to a Xmas Dinner.
It'll be Easter before we know it!

Re:arghh Christmas!
I agree, October is a little early to be talking about the birth of Jesus.0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
I don't think it's too early now!
I've just booked our Christmas p***-up at the local boozer plus written out our shutdown/pay date notices.
And according to the local radio, a house in Worthing has already been seen with it's Christmas lights on!
Regards,

Re:arghh Christmas!
I went in a card shop on August bank holiday weekend to find rows of Christmas cards - couldn't believe it. That was far too early!
It is only 11 weeks to go now!

Re:arghh Christmas!
When I first started work we used to talk about booking our Christmas jollie in July! Now it gets thought about the week before and everywhere is booked up
- so the men go to the nearest boozer/chinese and I keep well away!
Must admit it is one of my pet hates (one of many) to go into Tesco's and find the Xmas decorations up before bonfire night.
Having said that I am thinking of when we are working over the Xmas break and how to organise the weekly pay run, 'cos I won't be in on Xmas eve to do them.

Nope, still working on him. Spoke to him yesterday morning and told him I'm turning up at his house at six tomorrow evening to collect cheques.ukGiants wrote:did you 'sort out' that bad debtor you were having bother with
I really scared someone's bookkeeper a few weeks ago when I turned up on her doorstep late Friday night, looking for someone - her client. I thought he lived there but turns out he gave me her address as his own! Swine! Still, I had his right address within half an hour which really surprised him! LOL!0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Wo-hoooo I love Christmas!!!

This morning I was planning what I need to buy to make the Christmas cake this month, and then the pudding next month!
The Christmas aisle has been up in Sainsbugs for a few weeks now, and I stop every Friday morning and look at all the stuff, and can't wait to do the Christmas food shop!!
This year is going to be great as my son will be nearly 14 months old, so able to enjoy it a bit more than last year! He's also due to have an operation at the start of December, so we will also be celebrating that being over and done with.
Oh I can't wait..... this posting has just made me even worse now!!!!! Roll on December!0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
I do love Christmas but with it being about 80 days away, bearing in mind its about one or two days, i don't really like the premature hype.
Nothing better than eating quality street drinking wine, watching Its a Wonderful Life with chesnuts roasting on the fire, now that made me feel warm inside.0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Can't beat a good bit of cheap Liebfraumilch to keep the chavs happy when wandering the streets on a school night. Oh, the difference a comma makes...yellow_harley wrote:quality street drinking wine
Nothing's going right today; all my e-mail addresses are down (crappy AOL - when will I learn?!), MP3 player refusing to format, damn postal strike meaning I have to actually pick up a phone to ask for the payroll figures and the accountants then taking forever to fax them over...
Roll on Christmas!0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
I LOVE Christmas!
I love the weather...Cold so you have to cuddle up together.
I love the presents, dinner, alcohol, decorations....okay just about everything.
What is sad is that I actually start planning christmas in the January :oops:0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Bit late to start planning after it's all over

Re:arghh Christmas!
Not really as I find you can get really cheap Christmas cards and wrapping paper at knock down prices in the sales at this time.
Still got some from last year in a box of 50 including envelopes for £1.29 from a shop called Scrooges!
Remember they need the space for Easter Eggs and such.

Re:arghh Christmas!
Just discovered this morning the unused Christmas cards from last year sitting in our recent ex-employees office. Do you feel I should send him one along with his P45 which is still waiting to be sent on my desk? Might cheer his day up a bit - he certainly cheered mine up when he left. :evil:0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Ouch! Although, perhaps it might be a nice idea! Send him the ugliest one in the pack. That's what I do to people I don't actually like and have to give a card to.
Oh, now you've got me excited about Christmas again!!!!!0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Blobbyh, As I got to the end of your first sentence my thought was, he's going to hand them out nearer Christmas and pass them off as his own.0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Nah, they don't have our company name in them they're just blank ones. I haven't given out personal Christmas or birthday cards for probably over five years now, not because I'm a skin flint or owt but just because I'm simply too damn lazy and forgetful!
If I gave out the company ones above people are bound to think I nicked 'em!0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
Does anyone ever give you any, Robbi?0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!Baggybooks wrote:Does anyone ever give you any, Robbi?
Amazingly they do - some people actually like me, hard as that seems to some! - but come January I invariably find them unopened in the bottom of my briefcase or summat! Not that I dare tell them that!0 -
Re:arghh Christmas!
If anyone wants to send Robbi a card, PM me and I'll pass on his details...
Nothing too obscene, though!

Can we still get "Scrooge" cards?0 -
