Re:Missing thread...
It's back now, why does this keep happening :?:0 -
Re:Missing thread...
I've had no problems reading this thread at all today!
When I spoke to my new best mate Anna Hillier a few weeks ago, she did mention that there's more than one Sinclair ZX Spectrum server in use at the AAT-IT-HQ which can occasionally result in out-of-date pages reappearing - and by extension, I assume new threads temporarily disappearing!

Re:Missing thread...
Are you using the correct link to access the forums?
I had the old forums link in my bookmarks for quite some time and continued to use that one until recently when threads were disappearing.
Since going back through the homepage and updating to the new forum link I have not had any problems.
If the address bar says forums.aat.org.uk then you should be ok, I can't remember the old link but something like www.aat.org.uk/forums was probably it.0 -
Re:Missing thread...
Thanks for the tip Dean. I was using "aat.co.uk" and getting seriously frustrated at missing so many threads, then finding a whole week's worth appearing at once.
Let's hope this works.0 -
Re:Missing thread...
No, that didn't work for me
If I look at the threads list, lots of yesterdays threads have gone, along with the messages I posted yesterday.
Someone at AAT really ought to look into this, it's horribly demotivating for those who are seeking help and offering support to fellow members.0 -
Re:Missing thread...
Sheelagh I agree entirely. I have posted a similar thread to this on the technician forum.
It's daft! I mean, posts are going missing, then they are re-appearing, then they go missing again and when you look it says 1 reply when there are about 6!! I think they have changed the website address again and not told anybody!!0 -
Re:Missing thread...
Oh look, now they've come back.
I've just send a message the AAT about this. Amongst other things, I have suggested they post a message here to tell us what they are doing to resolve the problem.0 -
Re:Missing thread...
You'll be lucky if you get a reply Sheelagh.
I know there are a lot of people on here that have tried (and failed) to get so much as a response out of them. Robert (blobbyh) even went to the lengths of ringing Anna Hillier about the problems.
I think they might still be looking for new forum software (which they were doing at the beginning of the year).
The shop must have sold out! Bet our subscriptions go up again this year though!0 -
Re:Missing thread...
i posted a thread earlier - now its missing

Re:Missing thread...
I got a reply from "James" at AAT as followsThank you for your e-mail.
Apologies for the problems you have been experiencing with our forum.
We are in the process of updating the forum section, and everything should now be back to normal asap.
Thank you for your continued patience.
I asked him to post the same message on this forum for everyone - he clearly hasn't done that yet.
Also, I'm intrigued to see both "now" and "asap" in the same sentence. :? Anyone like to guess what that means?

Re:Missing thread...
Well done Sheelagh for getting a reply as quickly as you did!!
I think "now" may mean in the near (or not so near) future and "as soon as possible" could mean if the former isn't achieved.
We've waited nearly 12 months for the forums to work properly, so I think we could be waiting for another twelve months before they "get round to it".
