Hi Folks
I already work in accounts and I have just come to the end of my technician stage. I have applied and I have got myself an interview for an audit post - yippee! Comprising an hour formal interview and a 30 minute test - yikes! Fortunately, one of my options was auditing and I really got into it and enjoyed it.... what can I say, nitpicking is my thing I guess!!! Does anyone have any suggestions what a 30 minute auditing test in an interview scenario may actually involve (so I can cram a little) I know I am being very specific, but any suggestions would be very grateful!

Re:Auditing Help
I suspect such a test would involve devising samples for testing and asking you to decide what sort of testing needs to be done.
You may also be asked about the different types of audit report (qualified/unqualified/emphasis of matter/disclaimers and adverse opinions etc) and you could also potentially be asked about fraud issues as this is a central and new standard in auditing.
I doubt the test would be too technical in nature so as long as you have a rudimentary knowledge of auditing you will be fine.
Good luck.
Kind regards

Xlnt! Thank you... The only thing that bothers me is 'emphasis of matters'. I'm afraid I must have blinked when we covered that  Can you give me a nudge and remind me....pls, pls, pls,?0 -
Re:Auditing Help
Emphasis of matter is what is says - it emphasises a matter the auditors have come across during the course of an audit which is discussed in more detail in a note to the financial statement. An emphasis of matter does not affect the auditor's opinion.
