My collegue is AAT qualified but does not pay her fees. Now that she has used he AAT qualification to gain exemptions for ACCA where does this leave her?

I'm an ACCA finalist and proud to have got there via the AAT but my collegue just sees AAT as a means to an end.

Can she use the qualification to gain exemptions but not pay her dues?

    Hi

Exemptions are based on the achievement of qualifications or part-qualifications, not the status of membership. Each stage of the AAT is a qualification in its own right and it is this that the ACCA (and other) exemptions are based.

Similar would apply if an ACCA student were to transfer to CIMA (or vice versa), the student could claim exemptions for papers already sat but would not need to maintain student registration of their previous body.
