    Hi dp,

Actually, for some of these there are no statutory deadlines, but lets tackle the serious ones first.

Court orders do have to be paid over as quickly as possible and it will depend on which one you have. Go back to the documentation from the court, or CAPS, CSA, the local council or whoever issued the order and it will tell you exactly when it must be paid.

Pension contributions will depend on the scheme and the scheme's trustees so again have a look at their documentation to find out but there is a limit of the 19th of the month following the month of deduction. Pension administrators are required to report employers who fail to pay over in time and the regulator can prosecute.

Trades unions, well they can wait because there is no rule regarding them. However, to be fair once you have deducted the money from your employees it is only right to pay the money over quickly. I would say that as long as you pay over by the end of the month following the month of deduction you cant go far wrong.

    Does that help?

Well, in some cases I would be surprised if you found the details in the textbooks because the duties of the pensions regulator and their powers to punish are not really a level two issue, even if they do have an effect on the work at level 2. I would have put such matters at level 4 so you can see the dilemma, how to find the balance between what you need to do and what really needs to be known by those you report to, does that make sense?
