Does anyone have a problem with images?

I don't use it, but a friend finds that any images sent in an email are automatically saved on their pc. They say it happens with a blog they're sent too. All the photos are now on the desktop.

Any ideas?

Perhaps it is something to do with the preferences set in the email program she is using? We have vista at work but we don't use the built in email program instead using outlook 2003.

They're using Outlook. Just seems very strange to me.

It depends on which version of outlook they are using. Outlook 2003 will not download images by default, you have to fiddle with the security settings to change it. Previous versions of outlook didn't have this issue.

I don't think it's Outlook which is causing the problem. It maybe that there's some way of saving opened images by default - and that needs disabling.

    Correct me if im wrong:

they receive an email, with some pictures attached
they click the attachment to view the image
they then have a choice of open or save

if they select open, it will just display the image, using whatever is set as the default viewer

it sounds like they are selecting save, then opening the file.
they dont need to save it to view it though.

I would agree, but they tell me that if they receive a link to a blog, the same thing happens with the images contained in the blog.

I need to actually see their pc - but can't for a while.
