How many Units/Exams do you have to do for technician level on the NVQ route?

I am just moving onto it myself,
Units 8 & 9 - PEV & PCR
Unit 10 - the dreaded project
Drafting Financial statements
Choice of 2? from:
Cash management
Business Tax
Personal Tax
Audit Procedures0 -
So do you have 4 exams?0
-
Depends what ones you pick - Unit 10 is just the proejct writing (just!!)
Units 8 & 9 are an exam each - I find that strange as they relate to each other and the workbook is combiend for the 2.
Drafting Financial Statements is an exam and I think both the tax ones are exams.
Cash management is definitely a simulation and I think Audit procedures is as well.
I am body swerving the tax units as I have no interest in working in practice ( if I can help it, who knows the way construction is at present)0 -
Of the compulsory units, PEV, PCR & DFS are exams. Of the 'voluntary' units Auditing and Cash Management are simulations, BTC and PTC are exams. So, a minimum of 3 exams.0

Ok, thanks! Is technician level much harder than intermmediate?0

So they say - only just getting started. My problem will be that it looks like a fair bit of it is for if you want to be a "proper" accountant i.e. doing final accounts and tax or going onto CIMA or ACCA.
I just want to learn how to do what I do better but it will be an awful waste only to do the costing units etc. and not go for the full qualification.0 -
It is harder but I wouldn't say it is loads harder. If you got through intermediate without struggling too much you should be fine0
