    Don't work too hard at it - I'll get the blame! As I said, each digit to the left is worth twice the one on the right when it's "on" (ie a 1 instead of 0).

    The simplified form I used in my first post uses the following alphabet:

    0001 = 1 = A
    0010 = 2 = B
    0011 = 3 = C
    0100 = 4 = D
    0101 = 5 = E
    0110 = 6 = F
    0111 = 7 = G
    1000 = 8 = H
    1001 = 9 = I
    1010 = 10 = J

    and so on, finishing with:

    11010 = 16+8+2 = 26 = Z:thumbup1:

    Now, if you want to be really sad, next time you are using your fingers to count and come up short at 20/21 (guys), with Binary it is actually possible to count to 1023 with just 8 fingers and two thumbs! Takes a while to get there though...!:lol:

    PS The medication is slowly starting to take effect: within a week I should've stopped foaming at the mouth and recovery should continue on from there. However, my inane ramblings are not expected to cease before I'm 26 and as a result I shall continue to bore everyone to tears with startling frequency until that date!:lol:

    Quick, somebody find her facebook account - we need as much information about her as possible so we can weed her out and exterminate her!:lol:

    Or do we still have that Geek spray? One shower in that converts them for life?

    Ah geek spray....a unique blend of hayfever medicine, sun factor 600, liquidised star trek shirts, Bill Gates' sweat and George Lucas' tear drops, delivered in an asthma pump...

    I remember my first Geek-spray shower...the blokes from IT chanting rythmically in Klingon....the Clearasil being blessed by the local druid priest... the teenager commentating on the event in morse code for his weekly Ham radio programme...being handed my first train table and anorak.... ah, the memories...:thumbup:

    Got my first pair of glasses twenty minutes later...

    Did you all go out and get drunk on appletisers afterwards?!:001_tt2:

    You say you had to be given your anorak? I thought they were the result of a genetic disorder - at a certain age, the anorak would start growing out of a person's back!

    Maybe you didn't have the complete mutation?

    Well, that’s only if you are a 'pure-blooded' geek - if your parents were geeks and their parents were geeks and their parents etc all the way back to the 'old country'. My mother was a train spotting, nuclear physicist chess grand master who liked playing the Ukulele - a top class geek by anyone's standards - but my father was a lager drinking, football mad, wolf whistling builder. Who had friends(!). The mix means that I don't have the anorak mutation. It also means I am not eligible to become a 'made' geek and can only become an 'associate' geek….:001_unsure:

    Me and Jimmy could only become associate geeks, but a friend of mine - Tommy - was a pure blood. He was about to get made, until he got done - it was some real ugly stuff, between the geeks, went back to the old country….

    As far back as I can remember, I've always wanted to be an accountant :thumbup:

    So I'm not a pure-blood? In fact, as neither of my parents are geeks either, am I infact mud-blood?!:crying:

    Although my Uncle is a computer geek, maybe it's a recessive gene? It must be I reckon so maybe distant relatives were pure and it's just generation skipped..:laugh:

    Oh yes, you defo qualify now! Suprising that your never been called a geek though, with your background :confused1:

    Although thinking about it, perhaps your pedigree suggests that you are able to move on to the next level of geek? Become an IT specialist? :ohmy:

    Well, with my first website going surprisingly well, maybe I am an IT specialist at heart! And I've never mentioned this to anyone, but at work I am responsible for our accounts & audit software :blushing: and I keep talking to IT about 'routers' and alike! And IT are always asking me to do IT testing :blushing:

    Omg I'm a geeky geek!

    Nerds and geeks are two completely separate sub groups with society - they look very similar to the untrained eye, but geeks say tomato and nerds say tomato….The two share similar interests but are mortal enemies (when they meet on WofW anyway)

    To check your brother is a nerd, soak him in vinegar for five days, on the third day throw seven eggs at him (eggs produced from 'untroubled' hens), leave him to dry in the shade, take his temperature, put him in the recovery position and if a red mark appears on his back on the next full moon, he is a nerd. FACT.

    Its how they caught Stephen King.

    I could and I have. It was about a bloke investgating a sectretive christian sect. They had albino monk going around killing people who held a big secret about the catholic church.

    It was called "JC gets down and dirty with Mary M".

    Anyone can write a book, but what makes me special, is I only read what I want to read.
