To make it harder, assign spaces & punctuation a number as well - once you've spotted the "I am", it's easy to see that it's not just random numbers and is soon deciphered.
Better still, avoid punctuation and spaces all together and make it one continuos stream of numbers. Could you reverse the sequence as well (ie Z = 1) or even part way through (eg Q=1)? Nice one though!:thumbup:0 -
Have I got this right Jamie? You "got arrested for indecent exposure at a policeman during the cup final yesterday and are due in court next Tuesday"?
I can see why you coded it now but not entirely sure why you shared it with us..0 -

I believe these people are compelled to "show off" so maybe they are compelled to tell everyone who didn't see as well?:laugh:0 -
Well, some might say that now he's been done for exposing himself, should his career in accounts fail, there's always the church to fall back on... oops wrong thread...0

Are you a vampire? Seem awfully hooked on blood...! Can't beat Monopoly. The original that is, not these newfangled versions you get.0
-
Yay Monopoly rules!
All through my last AAT branch meeting I was secretly playing Monopoly on my mobile phone under the table.
Ooohh I am SO naughty. Better send me to the head for a good spanking.
Oh sorry, I also have the wrong thread. This one is also one for the church, or should that be synagogue.0 -

Ok I went to bed trying to work this out and have come into work and I still can't get it.......................please give me a big clue....please.:001_wub:
Hate it when something is getting the better of me0 -
Now everyone has a piece of paper with letters and corresponding numbers on their desks :-)
I was going to make it a little harder to crack (excuse the pun) but I thought I would keep it simple so the buddies would know what was going on.0 -
Did anyone get my binary code though?!:laugh:0
-
it was a total blur for me..........didnt have a clue what it was all about .......mind you thats normal ?0
-
Did you get Jamie's invitation?0

absolutely lost!!!0

If you wanted to cheat, you can translate the 2nd, shorter message online - just search binary translation. The first I did from memory and I didn't know how the first 3 characters in each block of 8 worked so I didn't use them!
For those that wish to know, Binary only uses the numbers 0 & 1 (ie on and off) to generate any number. Each digit extra to the left is worth 2 times the one on the right, so 11111 = 16+8+4+2+1 = 31. If numbers = letters, 1 is A and 10 is B (2+0) with C being 11 (2+1).
If you can follow that, you should be able to translate the text. I will warn you that it isn't anywhere near as revealing as Jamie's original post - it is only a reply!0 -
why has everyone gone into this binary coding lark.........0
-
:confused1:My head hurts!0

To be fair as long as the computers still understand it, there's not much reason for me and you to worry too much!
Still, for me it's technically a second language that I know so I'm saying im bi-lingual!:laugh:0 -
Ha, Ha!!0
-
Now, if I can learn hexa-decimal and Base 64...! Multi-lingual!0
-
im still trying to learn klingon ?0
-
Computer languages are much simpler in that they all revolve around the same numbers. However as I mentioned earlier, as a useful tool in real life they don't normally feature!0
-
I don't get it it's given me a headache trying to work it out0
