Neat little technique but I'm not sure with the example that in practice that you wouldn't do this 'by eye' unless you had a humungous amount of balances to check. And in that case I'd probably want to return an array of all errors not just the first.0

Useful with a balance sheet with hundreds of codes on though like we have here, also when there a a lot of people posting into prior months without telling you. Useful with my previous job when doing cost reports on construction contracts, a lot of issues balancing retention entries when values were posted into prior periods, and by singleing out the first period in error, it quite often cleared up all more recent periods.0
