Hi,

Could anyone tell me if you can practice as a bookkeeper even though you do not have MIP status.

I'm effectively finished the entire course but will not be able to claim full membership due to a lack of practical work experience.

The jobs market is effectively dead where I live because of the recession and those jobs, which are available are fiercely contested hence my desire to now work for myself.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

If you are not a full member of the AAT (i.e. student or affiliate), the MIP rules do not apply and you can work self employed. However, you cannot make any reference to you AAT qualificiation or your connection with the AAT.
