Which do I go for (disregarding the whole ipod issue)

A 16GB 5th Gen Nano
or
an 8Gb 3rd Gen Touch?

They're both the same price.

    Nano as with most you can download sortware and play movies on the 16gb

    i would go for the touch. my hubby has got one and it is fab. as well as being able to go onto the internet with it, he also watches movies on it too.

    It will be my next purchase

    If you want to be putting movies on it 8gb might not be good enough so nano wins! For just mp3 8gb will be plenty!
