Hello I am starting a new job in january and the company uses international accounting standards and want to know if there is a book I can purchase which summaries them. The one I saw is huge and wouldmt be easy to use.

    I have written a book summarising the IFRS/IAS which you can buy here.

    Hopefully this will be sufficient.

    Hi Cornflower,

    I do not have any other material in book format out there relating to IFRS. My next book is scheduled for publication in June 2010 and will be concerned with the interpetation and application of auditing standards which I have been asked to write and edit for a well-known publisher following the IAASB 'Clarity Project'. If you work in auditing this will be particularly useful.

    I also write for AccountingWEB.co.uk and you can find some relevant articles in their financial reporting zone which may help you. If you have experience of current UK GAAP then most IFRS/IAS are similar because the intention is to replace current UK GAAP with international equivalents in 2012 (ie for the SME sector).
