Just after some advice on how to get a job in payroll.
Im currently completing the AAT payroll level 2 course but would really like to get a job whilst im training so i can get experience.
The payroll jobs i have seen all ask for experience which is something i do not have, so just wondered how everyone else is getting on finding a job or how they got into payroll.

I got into payroll via a sole role that incorporated working all accounts up to trial balance.
But, asking for experience is one of the downfalls of being "new" into the job market. There will be companies out there that would be willing to develop "young blood" into a role and with specialising in a recognised payroll course will be of benefit in that respect.
If those roles are being advertised by recruitment agencies, there is no harm in sending your CV off to them, stating in a cover letter that you are looking to specialise in Payroll. Many treat applications as general applications if not necessarily relevant to the position advertised.0 -
