Hi everyone

I am setting up a new client on sage and it is a brand new business and partners have introduced the capital.

I am setting up sage through journal and could not find the capital a/c.

So journal for capital is : Bank current account dr
and capital a/c credit but do not know how to do on sage.

You might have to rename the profit and loss account, depending on how Sage has been set up

Just create a new code around assets, above profit and loss.

I'll tell you a code on Monday when I'm at sage...

I'm sure there should be a set up on sage for sole traders rather than limited companies but I wouldn't use an asset account for capital. Have I misunderstood you AK002?

LOL that's what i get for typing half asleep :(

    I meant around liabilities lol...!

Sage doesn't differentiate between ST & Ltds unfortunately.

No problems, I didn't think Sage did differentiate but thought that it should!!!

I've only got one set up as a sole trader, the rest of mine are limited companies but can't remember which code the capital is set up as! Typical as this is the only weekend i've shut my pc down at work so can't get into it!!!!

Capital is usually put to the 3000 nominal code.
