Import Duty

I am not an expert when it comes to import duty, but my client is saying that he should be able to claim import duty as a VAT expense on his VAT Returns?????????????

    That's correct, provided he gets the correct paperwork from the importer. Forgotten the number of the document he needs, is it SC65? Rings a bell but could be for totally the wrong reasons.

    He can reclaim import VAT but not import duty.

    Yes, sorry, brain's addled today was thinking of import VAT and confused it with the word duty.

    Oh that's great thanks. I have copies of the invoices with the breakdowns.
