Which part are you querying the increase 1.2 a or b. I am now working through this past paper and got my exam in November and panic has set in.

The opening balance was valued at £3.20 rising to £3.25 by 4 May and to £3.30 by 17 May. This is an increase of 3.125% over 17 days.

    Workings are:
    the increase is 10p

    10p divide by 320 opening balance = 0.03125 then multiply by 100 = 3.125%

Hope this is the question you were stuck on, if not let me know.

    PCR June 2010

i have managed to find opening stock of 393000 but can not work out how they get 10029360 production.
You need to find Closing Stock ( Saleable stocks at 31 May 2011 will be equal to 2.0% of the number of tubs sold in the year.) 10218000 X 2.0%=204360

Production: Numbers of goods sold- OS+CS= 10218000-393000+204360=10029360.
    Hope it will help.
