is the debtors clerk the same as a sales ledger clerk? if so i can tell you what my colleagues do here0 -

well tasks of the sales ledger clerks here are:
The Sales Ledger Team ensures that all cash receipts are banked on a daily basis, and that all cash & purchasing card payments are posted and allocated to customer accounts. They also liaise closely with the credit controllers, their respective managers and external customers in respect of payment related queries. The team maintains all transactions on the sales ledger to ensure that it reflects the most accurate company debt position at all times, and processes journals (including bad debt write-offs in respect of insolvent customers) and Purchase Ledger contras as required.
