I can't believe it's so near the exam and I am still finding it impossible. I have started a new temporary job last week which means I am studying as well as trying to do well in this job and I'm finding it hard:( luckily I have managed to enrol on a weekend revision course at my local college. Surely that's got to help. Has anyone else attended courses like this? What do they entale?

I have attended a 2 day course in Liverpool like this. That course just covered the most difficult bits, not teaching from scratch, just recapping on info you allready know and teaching you new ways of doing so.
I am also finding it difficult, four exams to go until I complete level 4 and a full time job! and moving house this weekend.
Good luck! Habe you thought about defering your exam if you dont feel up to it/ may save money and if you defer until you are happy and ready will make you more confident!

Thank you Katie. I had thought about deferring it but I paid for it so I might as well do it. I have also got a contract for a couple of months and some interviews lined up so I'm a bit more focused on my life now.
I am hoping this revision course helps because I can't follow anything in the books. It seems such a big step from the AAT audit exam.0 -
Well good luck, Dont get too stressed, as that creates panic, and will make a mess of the exam then.
When is the exam?
Mine is next tuesday and thursday.0 -
I try not to get stressed but I find it very hard sometimes not to especially with this horrendously hard paper!
I think my exam is the first week in June they usually are. I couldn't bear it if it was next week
Good luck for yours.0 -
Glynis the exam is Wednesday 8th June (2nd attempt for me)0
-
Thankyou for that. I had it down for the Monday. I would have panicked.
What do you think will come up in June.It is attempt 3 for me:(0 -
Mondays the tax exam (1st attempt).
Theres meant to be a lot more focus on Internal Auidt, but going off Decembers exam it's hard to imagine there's anymore they could ask about it!
I finished making all my notes yesterday so im finally going to read through them and then attempt some past papers. I dont care if i get 50, i just want a pass!0 -
Surely they can't put internal audit on again. That's all that practically appeared in December. I also hope Junes paper is worded better as well. Decembers paper was bearly understandable.
Don't some colleges give tips on what's going to come up? How accurate are these do you think?0 -
I'd say their 50/50.
I wouldn't rely on them alone.
Out of the tips Kaplan gave us for Decembers sitting about half came up.
I'll admit some of the exam was worded a bit badly.
Make sure you take your calculator this time, just in case!
With a calc that was the easiest 5 marks in the paper!0 -
I'll definately be taking a calculator with me. I won't make that mistake again.
I'm going to a revision course tomorrow and Saturday so I'll see what tips they give us. I can't face studying this paper again so I need to pass in June.0 -
I think the revision course will be a big help. Good luck with it

I'm a BPP tutor for FR and audit and I would really only use exam tips in conjunction with a good programme of study. You need good coverage of the syllabus in order to stand a good chance of passing.
Glynis weekend revision courses assume a good coverage of the syllabus and questions as if you are coming to BPP we only focus on core areas. The weekend revision phase is not a taught course and tutorial support is very minimal on these types of course.
I would encourage you to at least have attempted the last exam paper under exam conditions and now be practicing your exam style questions also to time before the course.
Read the last few examiners reports and technical articles as these can be indicative of problem areas which stand a high chance of being examined.
Good luck

Were do I get the examiner reports and articles from. I don't get any magazine from ACCA.0

Glynis, here's the link to all the info on the ACCA site - this is the F8 page and the options for examiner reports, technical articles etc are down the menu on the left.

I took this paper in December and agree it was badly worded in parts. I really feel for you having to study it again, I was so relieved when I passed, I hated it!
Better luck this time round - you know what they say, third time lucky!0 -
Thankyou for the link I found them whilst looking at the website. I also stumbled across this
