I wrote about 2 pages for the 10 mark questions I knew about an a page on the 5 markers.

Have always felt more confident about P1 but now starting to feel nervous, and can't get into the swing of revising today! Roll on 12.30 tomorrow!!! How's F1 feeling for you?

I can't get into the swing of revising today either, but at least I got tomorrow left.

I found F1 so far quite ok, especially compared to E1, and although for some reason I have not been able to match any of the financial statements yet even during the practicing, but usually I do get to pass on the tests.

i am still looking into training providers and drafting a letter to see if my employer will pay some of it for me - the exemption costs are ridiciulous - ยฃ225 to not sit exams seems a bit extreme to not sit exams.

is there any particular order i should be sitting the exams?

As far as I know, you can sit the professional papers (Operation and Management level) in any order. After that comes the Strategic level. You can't start strat level, unless you finished the other two and you got to sit all three at the same time.

And then it's just your T4 left, which I got no clue about! :)

BPP had a recommended order on their website for professional:
    E1 with F1,
    P1 with F2 and
    E2 with P2
If you sit 2 at the time and otherwise just each level if you sit 3 at the time.

I had to write a full motivation at work why they should give me funding and they did. But they only offered to fund distance learning (I suggested online classes and listed distance learning plus normal classes as alternative). I'm going to look for E2 to see if I can arrange with my work to take the online classes, if I just pay them the difference.

P1 was awful!!! Think I've defo failed :( was talking to a girl after who agreed it was a harsh paper.

Shame as I felt so much more confident with it. Oh well, knew I'd be resorting at least 1!!

    Good luck for tomorrow.

Oh, that's such a shame to hear, but hopefully you scrambled enough points to pass after all!

    Thanks!

Today everything was going wrong in the practicing, so I gave up and figured I should not have given in and just stuck to rereading my notes and write out the basic calculations and nothing else. O well, I just hope tomorrow is better, but at least it's a short study break afterwards!

Right, F1 was actually a quite nice paper and I finished with a few minutes spare (and a few questions on section B I know I did wrong).

Anyways, quite satisfied with that one and happy it's over now.

Now it's time to celebrate, combined with some crying in a corner about some bad news in the afternoon and to take the cat to the vet urgently tomorrow.

All in all, really nice to get the exams over, but just in time, as if I would have had anything tomorrow, I would have either not sat it or ruined it anyways.

Got two very nice exam papers in my opinion.

7 questions in each which i knew the subject matter and how to answer so lets hope that translates to 50 or more :D

And how did you find E3 Wonder?

E3 was ok. I was firing on all cylinders as it was the first one. Felt like I did fine. Didn't sleep well that night, was knackered but the realisation of doing it over again hit me.
P3 I didn't enjoy, I spent the first 15 minutes braindead due to the poor sleep, but then got into gear and managed to get (I think) enough down to pass.
F3 was horrid. I slept ok the night before, but just made a total balls up of most of it. It's been my weakest point all year. It didn't feel like a pass.

I then (for the first time ever in CIMA or AAT training) went to the pub with my classmates and had a great afternoon!

I feel disappointed just because I know I could have done better in all of them. But having to do all three together, and to sit them one after another in three mornings is a total friggin killer.

I'd say that is a really good order to do them in. You're right, you can do as many or as few as you like.

    When I started CIMA, my college did P1, P2 and P5 (now E2) in Semester 1; P7 & P8 (now F1 & F2) and P4 (now E1) in semester 2. I followed my bosses advice and did F1 with F2; then P7 with P8, then I did P5, then E1 (as it was by then 2010 syllabus).

I would NOT recommend this! Firstly, you are learning the more advanced material at the same time as the material it follows on with! That did focus me on things at the time - and there is crossover - BUT - because I took a year to do the 2 "E" papers, it set me at a disadvantage when I started Strategic as it had been nearly two years since my "P"s and a year and a half since my "F"s.

PLUS - the exams are now timetabled E on a Tuesday, P on Wednesday and F on Thursday. So if you do two E papers together, you'll sit two exams on the same day. OUCHAROONIE!

That BPP spacing is really wise and I wish I'd done it! Then again, I got all my uni's good teachers for the P and F papers before they all took redundancy......

ok, i have approached my HR department for a grant for continmuing my study and they have advised me to do a business case to support my application. there is a dedicated part in the HR policy aimed at ACCA/CIMA so that is a good start, they also use Kaplan texts so all is looking good. the fact that they have a seperate part in the policy for this qualification makes me feel quite positive i am going to get the funding.

i am only going to apply for the e1 and f1 to begin with and then just re-apply as needed.

now to present my case i have to answer the following:

considering the total cost, quantify what benefits/returns the business can expect?

what would be the benefits to the employee?

can someone help me with some ideas of what to put.

    thanks

    Tracy

I would explain that the extra knowledge of business management and accounts will help you have a better understanding of your job to start with and will train you to become a very good manager.

Returns/ benefits may not be quantifyable, but it will add efficiency and will aid you in identifying options for improvements.

Not sure if that will help!
