Does anyone know if you can register for ACCA but pay for exemptions later? Do you have to pay for exemptions before you take your first exam? If you dont pay for exemptions do you have to start at knowledge level?

Also how much is it to register with ACCA, is it just £72 then another £72 on 1st January or is it £144 immediately? It doesnt actually say in plain terms on the their website?

Thanks

if it is anything like CIMA, you will have to pay for exemptions before your first exam.

With registration i suspect it is £XX to register and £XX per year? which you may get a discount for if your a full AAT memeber or it might be a discounted AAT memebership one of the two.

Image in you get a raw deal in year one haveing to pay full years subs but onyl getting half a years membership...not sure thought

You pay the registration fee at the time you register, then the annual membership fee on the 1st January. You can get discounted AAT full membership while you are studying ACCA. I think when I registered they sent me an invoice for the exemptions which I did get a bit of time to pay.

I think there is a way of taking one exam before claiming exemptions as you can take 4 at each sitting. So you opt to take the 3 that you are waiting for exemptions for as a computer based exam (think this gets you out of paying for them!) plus the one you actually want to take. I can't remember exactly how this works but seem to think I've seen it mentioned in a previous thread!
