I just got an email suggesting we can sign up for the next exams and the closing date is somewhere September.

I'm a bit worried, as I haven't even got my work to send off the request for the next course yet, the PO is authorised, but I haven't received the form back yet.

It's just that I discussed at work that I might only take one unit this time, but the PO is for two. If I'm already late, I might just change the form to one unit only as I'm also aware that I loose out a few weekends on family and friends this time around, while normally I try and plan them in the time between the exams and the results.

Is everyone back to studying already and am I just really late or is everyone still looking into courses/ waiting for things to go through?

As of today, im back studying, but ive got an exam in september, normally i would be getting back into the swing of things for end of august, depending on the start date of my course.

    Thanks!

I guess that means I still got enough time to at least try and go for two units, once I get the order form back. I submitted the form on the day we got the exam results in, so I find it is taking quite some time and I had expected to have started already.

Maybe it's just my time perception that's off at the moment!

I'm starting studying just the one unit. I chose to get F1 out the way first as I work in industry so figure it will be the hardest of the 3 for me. I will decide if im registering for exams nearer to the deadline when I see how i'm doing at the time.

    Thank you Sandy,

Yes I have joined and sent off my certificate. I'm awaiting for confirmation before doing anything else. I only paid for the 1 unit so far and am not too worried if I can't enter the november exams.
I passed all my AAT exams first time with mainly exceeding expectations on the feedback. Also I only had a couple of additional questions to answer on a couple of my simulations so by taking my time and going slow and steady I ensured I covered the full syllabus.

I'd rather take a few months longer to complete and know I haven't just "winged it" than rush to get so many exams over in only a few months.

I'm doing the BPP online classroom this time round so F1 started on Monday and P2 starts on Thursday.

I haven't actually opened a book for either yet tho as still trying to revise for E1 re-take at the end of this month.

How come you're thinking of only doing 1 unit Rinske? You passed both!!

Its not about the study, but about the time I got to study.

I'm giving myself and my life a bit of a review at the moment and I might need to make some changes to my personal life in the upcoming months. Which means I'd rather take it easy and focus on one unit, instead of spreading myself out too thin over two units.

It's hard to explain and I don't really know what is going to happen in the next few weeks/ months, so I might worry over nothing, but only time will tell!

Ah, that's ok... Only you know what's best for yourself!

It is time consuming, I just want it to be over as fast as possible so I can get my life back lol!

I totally agree on this one, but the upcoming weeks/ months are going to be critical in many ways, or there won't be much left to get back to. And as my manager said, work is just there to pay the rent and study is just a way to be able to pay more rent in the future.

Im not really sure I agree with your manger, if the only reason to study was for more money then im not sure my motivation would be very high. How about studying to learn, improve knowledge, advance career chances towards a more interesting job - or just that postive feeling you get when you have passed an exam and have achieved something worthwhile.

I think you only need to study everyday night and day and let it take over you if you are concerned with getting top marks /being a prizewinner.

It's more of an expression then anything else really.

It's just to point out that personal life is more important than either study or working life and not so much as motivator.

So far i'm finding F1 hard to sink in. I'm never quick on the theory bits especially when its nice outside and theres other things I keep thinking I could be doing. Whats E1 like?

    Oh what a shame.

Mind you I have my course online and brought the Kaplan book for F1 as well but am really struggling to get into it. Going to try and do some tonight without getting distracted looking for bargains on ebay. (nor posting on here lol)

I'm still waiting on my stuff too. Work has send it off and I got a confirmation it will be ready in three working days, so curious to see what will show up!

P1 and E2 for now, although I'm mostly focussing on P1, I will try and fit in E2 as well! If I do run out of time, I want to make sure I pass P1 and have a grounding in E2, so that I might be able to make up for the lost unit in May next year.

Why are you jumping straight onto E2? or have you already completed E1? Am I the only sucker starting with F1 or is that the easy paper for most people?

Its nice that others are starting out doing CIMA at the same time. The AAT student site never seemed the same once CBA where introduced. No one seemed to be doing the same thing at the same time as before.

I did E1 and F1 in the May sitting, hence I'm moving on to E2.

Just don't count on the CIMA forums being any good though, it's a shame, but not worth the time!

just had my email from cima, i have been granted my exemptions - Β£225 to pay but at least it is done now - all i need now is my study material :)

Ive had that email too, just waiting for payday before I pay it.

Another reason for taking the qualification slowly is finding the means to pay for it.

Mind you in a few years time we will be able to look back and think all the work expense and stress was worth it :~

Hurray, now you just need to find the motivation to get started!

I finally got the proper books on Saturday, this was the order I raised on results day, but first it was delayed at work, then apparently faxed, but not actioned by BPP and last week they send me P2 instead of P1. Although I did receive E2, so I could get started with that one, but as I got that one on lower priority, I really wanted to get started on P1.

Now I'm just missing the practice course exams and some access online, but the books are there.

Glad to hear your books have finally arrived both (well almost Rinske). I've had a week away camping and come back keen to get a good chunk of studying done, until other things took my mind away the weekend (sheer exhastion being one of them) and todays lunchtime session has been brief and nothing sinking in. I'm wondering if its the online course thats the problem seeing how before I studyed from text books or if its just the level of the study. All the theory stuff in F1 is mind blowing.

Does the study kit you have look any good Tracy/Rinske?
