I passed my AAT a while back and wanted to go on to do ACCA but didn't have the funds. Now that I can afford to study ACCA (via distance/online learning) I'm wondering if anyone knows the best way of doing this?. Also, a friend told me that I could sit the exams at the college that I studied AAT at but I can't seem to find out when the exams are held exactly. I'm aware that it's June and December the same as AAT but does anyone know the dates? There are so many different exams.

You can't actually sit the exams at college, you have to go to one of ACCAs exam centres. They have them in most major cities - I think there'll be a list on their website somewhere! - but the exact venue in each city can change between sittings. You don't actually know at the time you put in for the exam exactly where it's going to be! I think it must depend on how many people enter as to how big a place they need, they're normally in conference rooms.0 -
Not sure this is going to be as straightforward as I was hoping it would be

Hi,
I've noticed that you're in the Midlands. If it is any help, the ACCA exams have been held at New Bingley Hall in Birmingham since I started in 2009. It is about 5-10mins walk from Jewellery Quarter train station, so quite easy to get to.
It is a huge conference hall with usually about 800 people there.0 -

I thought that as well when I first started and found out you can't take exams at college, but it's really not that bad and you get used to going to the different exam centre. I wouldn't let that put you off if it's the only thing.0
