Register as an agent with online for SA & Corp Tax

Hi Forumist,
I am registered online with HMRC as angent for VAT & Paye/CIS but I tried to register for SA & corp Tax but I cant as it keeps asking me for corp tax /SA reference number which i dont have and I dont know how I get it any Ideas how I get one??

You need to apply to HMRC to be an agent for SA and CT services. They will send you an activation code in the post. If i remember rightly you need to apply in writing to them. You cant apply online as you can for PAYE and VAT.
The address is on the HMRC website under 'register as an agent' section i think.

Hi i wrote to them as it does state on their website that it must be in writing and i heard nothing. I rang the online services helpline i think it was and i spoke to a lovely lady that said that if you ever filed a paper CT for a client you will have this agent code, she took my details and rung me back 10 minutes later and gave me the code over the phone! Couldn't believe it!! Just thought i'd mention it in case you have no luck after writing to them!

When I registered as an agent, I called my local tax office and was given the codes over the phone
This was a couple of years ago though so not sure if it's changed0
