    Good luck everyone.

I'm feeling a little bit worried!! Think I'll probably wake up early and look then.

Sorry to hear you're living on your own now Rinske, hope everything else is ok x

    I'm getting there! :)

I'll probably wake up early too to be fair! I just checked, last time I had the exam results just after 3 oclock in the morning, I doubt I'll be awake to check then, but I might go to bed early tonight and wake up early!

Good luck to everyone, really not expecting to pass P1 and E1 due to failing to revise properly so only myself to blame, but there is always that faint hope of a miracle.

May just leave my phone on vibrate, so it wont wake the old man just in case !!!!!!

Ooooh and how are everyone's results? I really hope to hear some good news here!

I passed P1 with 70%, so I'm happy and it means operational level is now finished, on to management level. I think E2 is going to be the first one!

Congratulations Rinske, that's a really good mark too.

I passed E1 with 55% and F1 with 58% so really please as I didn't expect to pass E1 - just shows there's always hope. On to P1 and F2 now hopefully.

Hope everyone else gets good results too

Well done guys, I passed F1 and failed P2.

I now know I can't deal with 2 exams at once!! Fingers crossed for the re-sit next month.

    Well done on F1 Esme!

Good luck on the resit and nice to see how positive you are about them.
Could you just do one exam at the time on the next sitting? Or will you take E2 and F2 together anyways?

I'm starting a new job on Monday so going to skip the May sittings then do E2 in November.

Not doing 2 again! God knows how I'll manage the final 3 together!

Oooh congratulations and good luck on Monday!

I got no clue how to sit those three together either, might take a year to study, instead of half a year, but not sure if that really would work either!

We shall see. For now, I got E2 planned for the May sitting, as that gives me some more time to settle in at home still, before tacking P2 and F2. Although I might look into F2 as well. Depending on how well I'm getting on with E2.

Good luck with your studies for the resist in Feb

Well done everyone whos passed and sorry to hear about P2 Esme and your split up Rinske.

I passed F1 by a miracule! My mark is 50!! I knew it was going to be close to the wire but that was really cutting it fine.

At least I know why I didn't do as well as usual because I knew I wasn't as prepared as I should have been so I consider myself very lucky indeed.

Im not entering the May exams so I can prepare fully for the next one or ones I sit instead of trying to rush it which is where I went wrong before.

Thanks for all the encouragement to everyone who posts on here, just reading posts sometimes gives you the gumption to go for it.

Tracy I hope May sittings better for you.

Rinske, I don't think you have to pass all three final ones at once so will probably take me three sittings and a few fails, lol!

    Esme,
I know we don't have to pass them all at the same time, but just sit them all. Being the person that I am, I just feel the urge that if I decide to sit an exam, I want a chance to pass it as well!

    Tracey,
Good luck for the May sitting, glad to hear your job settled down a bit though. Does that mean they now hired someone to do your old job?

needless to say i dont have much faith in her, but i am training her for 2 weeks, then i am doing my own job - she says with baited breath

Esme best of Luck for Monday, with all the excitement of actually passing I missed reading the bit about your new job sorry.

Tracy good luck with your trainee, she may just be a bit nervous and have not alot of confidence in her abilitys.

Rinske your pass mark is fantastic you should be very pleased with yourself. I can't believe how some of you have managed to sit more than one paper in a sitting, you are very brave and Claire its fab that you passed both.

Fingers crossed that 2012 is a better year for all :)

    Hi all,

Hows the pre exam study/nerves/stress levels doing?

We've had a few issues at home (daughter diagnosed with a rare blood disorder) so have missed over a huge chunk of study time. Im trying to catch up before the exam but as I've only entered the one E1 it may be doable :)

Seems like ages since i've been on here too.

I'm sorry to hear that and I hope your daughter is ok or going to be ok!

I'm far behind on E2, but luckily I only sit one exam as well. I just got such a hectic time at work and at home, that my study suffered quite a bit. Oh well, life goes on, few more weeks of fast focus, probably some online QBD option to help me get a bit of confidence and then just hope!

Will you be doing a lot more study or are you just taking it as it goes?

My daughters being treated thank you and is doing well. Shes got alot of study to catch up on as well for her A levels but unfortuately that means she keeps interupting me when im trying to find time to study.
It seems so hard to find the time to study CIMA, AAT seemed to fit in easy by comparision I got loads done at lunch but now I don't seem to have more than 20 mins of my lunch break left to study by the time Ive eaten and got round the interuptions at work. I was single while studying AAT too and me and my daughter built up lots of batch cooking which helped no end with time. My partner now (who I wouldnt change for the world) eats twice as much as us and batch cooking no longer works along with daughters boyfriend frequently visiting and the two healthy appetites of his sons on a Sunday it seems I never have the time anymore to cram a few hours in.

Im starting to feel like why bother? I only just scraped a pass at F1 with 50% and I'll be lucky if I get even that with E1. I know its not ability its finding the time to study with working full time and having a family to look after. I think I might have to go on strike at home and maybe try to go off to the libary to find some peace to study in.

Anyway moan over and im going to go lock myself away somewhere to try and do some work.

    Glad she is doing well!

But yes, hard to study with all the interruptions and so on. I used to work early hours, skip lunch and get home early to cook and then study, but my working hours have changed recently and I need to find some different times to study as well. I think batch cooking will be the answer for me as well!

I'm not sure if F1 is comparable to E1, as they are so differently, but I would really recommend that study time in quiet in the library if you can! I think I need to find the time to focus, so maybe I should do the same. Less distractions etc.

I'm taking a lunch break now though, so I might find some study time there... Although so far I had a lunch break, but didn't take it, so from Monday at least, I'm going to try again!

    Fingers crossed for you Rinske.

Im hoping it will be like when I started AAT, I found it hard to begin with then it just clicked into place and I got a routine going. Thats what I need to do with CIMA. Mind you ive just asked student finance if the loans are available to study CIMA at college and got told no its just a proffessional qualification not an academic one! not so sure it aint all that academic but hey ho eh :)

Oh excellent, always nice to be told it's "just" professional. I think I agree with you, but hey ho indeed.

By the way, is it just me or is the website from BPP completely useless since they changed it? I'm trying to find their revision courses or QBD's, but I can't find them and all I can find is to call them, rather than being able to see prices/ dates or options.
I'm sure it's there somewhere, but I can't find it.

I have no idea on the BPP site sorry. Ive never used them. I tried to download an e-book but after paying found out I couldn't install it on my kindle (grrr). I asked for a refund and despite them having my card details twice they still haven't refunded it months on so Im boycotting them so to speak lol. Is there a site map button? Thats sometimes easier to navigate.

After talking to my partner I think im just going to sit CIMA out for a while. Trying to find the time needed to study is proving way too difficult and I feel we have enough on our plates already.

Im so glad I managed to complete AAT or I would feel a complete failure. Maybe in the future things will change and I might be able to re-commence the studies but for now I feel I need a big rest. So envious of those who get study support and paid tution at the moment.

Yes it was certainly annoying to find out I could get student finance to study a degree which employers dont seem to want but not CIMA which they do! Lucky my daughter is planning on doing teacher training and that they actually accept that as a "academic" course.

I can't blame you for sitting it out a bit at the moment. You got a lot on your plate and studying just takes a lot of energy.

I'm feeling very often just a bit left on my own as my company funds distance learning from BPP only. I signed up for E2 last year for the November exams, but due to everything in my personal life, I decided the defer this unit to the May exams, but of course, lost the study support from BPP at the end of February. To do an Enterprise study without feedback on how you did the questions feels an impossible task to me at the moment, so I figured I'd best get a QBD or something, but they seem to be a week before the exams, and I would prefer one sooner.

But yeah, I can understand it gets a lot harder without study support!

I wouldn't say its a complete failure (or partly) just because you give it a rest now. I mean, you got a very good reason and study isn't the most important thing in life when things go wrong or not perfect.

I hope I am not intruding into your conversation. Please accept my apologies now if I am.

I'd like to echo comments you have both made.

Employers do like CIMA rather than a degree. They have a better understanding of what it means, and (my fellow lecturers may wish to add their on experiences) degrees have become caught up in a competition to attract students race. As Universities can be compared in terms of the % of students who pass, some lecturers and professors have been pressurised to make passing easier. (In the process this lowers standards and makes it difficult for an employer to know what a degree means, so they revert to CIMA as a benchmark.)

Exam revision time is tricky. I ran a revision weekend for one of the CIMA papers this weekend. The students who attended will now be pretty much on their own between now and May the twenty something - almost a month. It isn't ideal but it is just the way for me to fit it in. I think this coming weekend with the added bank holiday would be better, or the following weekend. These are both nearer to the exam, but practicalities kick in. Typically CIMA students are very much involved with month/quarter/year end so taking time off at the beginning of May isn't realistic.

This coming week, CIMA are laying-on their "ask a tutor" live hours. Sometimes the questions are lame, so they will welcome any queries you have and are very willing to help.

    Thanks Sandy!

Please feel free to intrude at any time. This is a forum and not a private chat conversation, we just happen to be very much replying to each other I think.

I have seen the offline ask a tutor questions last few times and did think they asked very lame questions mostly (just the exams I looked at, I can't judge all of them). I think my problem is wording the questions, as a lot is wanting feedback based on the answers I'm giving to questions. I might just see if I can prepare a few questions to see if I can submit them, as I got till Friday.

Now I just need to convince my work that attending that hour would be a great idea and that I should really be allowed to take my lunch hour then. That should be fairly easy though.

Thanks for pointing this one out Sandy, I hadn't seen it, as I haven't really kept up to date with the CIMAsphere and it might actually be helpful, if not, it just is an hour that wasn't spent as efficient as it could have been done!

Thanks Sandy, your not intruding at all, as Rinske pointed out its a public forum if I wanted a private conversation I would be using pm. You are very lucky to live down there, my daughter has just been accepted at Chichester uni Bognor Regis campus for September. Its a lovely part of Britain and we can't wait to explore it a bit more when we are visiting her when shes there.

Rinske, yes I have alot on my plate at the moment and typing it all out on here has kind of made me realise that.

I used up over half of my annual leave until next February with my daughters illness so taking time off for study isn't an option anymore.

I don't want to give up completely just wait until things are a little less hetic and moneys not so tight. I think I would be better doing maybe a classroom course but will have to try and sort a budget out to accomodate it maybe next year.

On the plus side I am extremely proud to be AAT qualified and I enjoy my job so although CIMA is a huge want its not an urgent need. :D

Well that answers it all. Take a break, take the time to sort yourself out and come back to it!

It sounds like you decided it already and I'm glad to hear you went for a sensible option.

Just out of curiosity, but will you still go to the E1 exam in May and just see how it goes or will you take a break completely from now on?

I remember SDV's suggestions for the PEA option to answer and just wondering if it may be helpful for you, if you do decide to sit the exam.
