Mystery cheque!

Hi

We have received a cheque made payable to the previous occupant of our building (opened "automatically" with the rest of the pile). The previous occupant went into liquidation and we have no forwarding address anyway. The cheque is from a company with a rather vague name and a Google turned up at least three businesses with the same name, none that seem close to the bank address on the cheque.

The only thing I can think of to do with the cheque is send it to the bank address on it.

Any thoughts...?

Neil

Return to sender with a note stating payable company is no longer at your address. Plus bit obvious but be more careful opening mail not addressed to you. When sometimes receive mail for clients as the registered office and when we no longer act we return the letter marked not at this address.

Yes, I would send to the bank who issued it.
