OK here goes:
Abbreviated accounts submitted to CH for 29th June 2010 to 28th June 2011. Accounting Reference Date was 30th June, now 28th June. Incorporation was 29 June 2010

2 demands from HMRC for CT600s have now been received:

First a/c period: 29 Jun 2010 - 28 Jun 2011
Second a/c period: 29 Jun 2011 - 30 Jun 2011

Just gained online access and the third return (clearly not due yet as financial year not ended) is for 01 Jul 2011 - 30 Jun 2012

I cannot see any other option but to file a return for 2 days. Can anyone else? :mad2:
thanks

This is normal. Normally, the year end will become 30th June (far, far easier to work to whole months)

Then for the first return youwill have the first year, then the 2nd return will be the last few days of June. You do one set of accounts to cover both CT600s.

In your case, as you've shortened the ARD from 30th to 28th, you have created a 12 month filing period, therefore only 1 CT600 needs completing, from 29/06/10 - 28/06/2011.

HMRC won't chase the 2nd one once you send in the first one with an accounting period to match.
