Time to get on it again

Hi

After taking a year out after completing my AAT, I'm looking to get back on the studying, and having recently being forced to look for a new job, have found a company willing to help me on my path and aren't concerned whether I look at ACCA or CIMA. Looking at the courses, they both look daunting but I am more interested in costing and financial performance than financial statements. I like working in industry too so I'm swaying towards CIMA but that would lead me down that path for good and the kind of person who can never make my mind up and keep my options open. Any advice ??

Also, what learning providers would you recommend for distance learning as I pretty much handled the AAT on my own and with the help of the forums and classmates clubbing together?

Everything in your post points towards doing CIMA

Don't worry about being stuck on the industry path, if you were to ever change your mind it's never too late to change to a different part of accounting!

I've done distance learning through BPP and they were OK.

I'm working through the ACCA F papers at the moment.

ACCA is not just about financial accountancy. It encompasses all sorts such as global corporate and
business law, management accounting, auditing, financial management and tax.

I'm not sure how CIMA compares but I really like the variety of ACCA.

As for tuition providers, I've used study materials from both BPP and Kaplan. Given the choice I prefer
Kaplan materials, however I guess it is personal preference.

I ultimately decided not to use BPP again after they completely messed up my order last year and it
took me weeks to get a refund.
