ACCA answers

Does anyone know when the answers are published? I just want to get an idea how I might have performed in December exams?
I rang ACCA but they said they don't give that information out. I've tried calling BPP but they don't know either.
Someone said that they wait till near the results time but what is the point of that :(

Exam answers usually came out a week before the results

I'd personally concentrate on studying for another paper now and try and forget about your exam
performance in December 12 until the results are published.

I'm not sure how I did in the Dec 12 sitting and don't think the answers would provide any reassurance
given the potential answers to F8 can be fairly wide ranging.

I'm currently studying F9 and will just wait and see how I did in F8 when the results come out and go
    from there.

I recommend giving your brain a well earned rest. Exam preparation and sitting exams are tiring. You need to allow the time to relax in between sets of exams. There will be bags of intensive thinking , learning and I would hope aquiring understanding and knowledge in the period ahead of June's exams. My class won't even start F9 until late February, but I hope they will all be fresh and bright having have a break.

Some of the answers are on the website now. Not P1 yet though.

    How did you do Glynis?

I found the exam quite hard to understand again. The requirements are too confusing and there was nothing that was clear. I looked at the answers and I didn't do anything like what's in them. I know I've got question 5 wrong as I said unqualified report for the first and emphasis of matter for the second.

There never seems to be any guidance or help from ACCA to give you a clue what they want in the answers. I'm praying I've done enough to pass then I can move on.

They give you the answers to the questions, surely that's the guidance and help that they give?

The ACCA answers can be a bit overwhelming. It is more than a perfect answer, you'd never have time to answer like that.

    Best wishes all!

but they are more realistic than the answers in the revision book which are really detailed for revision purposes, it certainly shows you the style of what they are asking for.

    Hi

I sat the F8 paper in December too.

I can honestly say I have no stomach for looking at the answers prior to results day.

F8 is a discursive paper so there is sometimes a bit more variation in the answers.

I have to say though I'm not very confident about my result.

I have just looked at the feedback in PQ Magazine and F8 is described as "unbalanced". Does this mean that the marking will be more lenient? Does anyone know what unbalanced means? I'm hoping this is a sign that they will lower the pass mark

Without reading the article, I'd just say unbalanced meant the exam was heavy on some topics and had fewer than expected questions on other parts. I very much doubt the pass marks would be lowered for this... surely the exam just suited people who knew that part better.

As long as what is tested is on the syllabus I don't see why pass marks should ever be lowered (assuming ther is a set pass mark and a mark is always one mark (ie scores not standardised).

just reading the article tonight (must be fate).
it says"F8 was unbalanced as Q1 concerned just one audit area - inventory. However, as this is a mainstream topic most candidates can relate to it, main problem may have been spending too long answering it."
another view said a fair paper testing key areas of the syllabus again.

    Fingers crossed you did ok....
