Hi All

I completed AAT last year and now after a break I am considering ATT, as I really enjoyed tax and it will help within my work.
Could somebody let me know how many exams there are to take and I understand I can take these in May and November.

Thanks in advance

    Hello Becky

You are required to complete 3 written papers and 2 E-Assessments.

    Compulsory Papers

    Paper 1 - Personal Taxation

Paper 2 - Business Taxation & Accounting Principles - (you can apply for an exemption in you studied Business Tax at AAT Level 4)

    Optional Papers

    Paper 3 - Business Compliance

    Paper 4 - Corporate Taxation

Paper 5 - Inheritance Tax, Trusts and Estates

    Paper 6 - VAT

The two E-Assessments are Professional Responsibilities & Ethics and Law.

You are correct in understanding that the exams are May and November. The e-assessments can be sat anytime when you can book yourself into one of the assessment centres.

If you need to know anything else, just ask as there are lots of people on here who are currently studying, or looking to study ATT.

I'm not sure if you have seen/heard about the tax/ethics qualification that the AAT are looking to introduce. Hopefully there will be more information available regarding this soon.

    Hi Jo

Thank you so much for that, it really helps. Are you studying ATT? Is the percentage pass rate the same as AAT?
I am looking at training centres near me as i would prefer to study at college.

    Thanks again!

    Hello Becky

No, I'm not currently studying ATT.

I'm not sure what the percentage pass rate is. Perhaps a quick look at the ATT website will provide the statistics you are looking for.

There is a AAT to ATT group on here so why not join it.

Let us know what you decide.

Oh I see what Becky meant now... the score/percentage required to pass the exam rather than the number/percentage of students passing the exams.

    Hey Becky

ATT is an amazing qualification (as long as you're interested in tax)!

Like Deborah said - you need to score 50% to pass the written papers, however I think it's 60% for the E-Assessments. Some of the papers have stupidly high pass rates too! Over 90% of people pass the 'Business Compliance' exam in most sittings :)
