Evening all!

Am going to enrol for distance learning ATT but can't decide which provider to go with, with Tolleys it would be the traditional correspondence course.

I know Tolleys has come up on here as being good but has any had experience of Kaplan?

Thank you :o)

Tolleys, BPP or Kaplan for ATT?

I am seriously thinking of doing ATT but would also like some advice for best distance learning courses. I'd be interested to hear your experiences. I did AAT at college so I haven't got any pre-conceived ideas!
    Thanks,

For your info, Kaplan use Tolleys materials, which are very good in my opinion :)

    Hey

Personally I wouldn't suggest BPP - their material is OK but I found some of the tutors to be lacking the in depth tax knowledge I'd expected.

A friend of mine studied through Tolleys and she said they were a lot better than what we'd experienced at BPP.

    Hello All

I studied AAT with BPP and found all my tutors knowledge to be fantastic and there was never a question they couldn't answer. Having read the above post, I was wondering if anyone has studied ATT with BPP either in the classroom, online learning or distance learning? If so, do you have any comments on the materials etc. I am hoping to study ATT and was looking at BPP as my preferred training provider.

    Any replies appreciated.

Becca - I think you have used BPP Material but forget the name of your training provider, I know it isn't BPP. Any comments on the materials? Did your training provider provide any additional materials?

    Hi Jo,

Yeh I am using BPP material- I have the study text, the question bank, the I-Pass cd and the pocket notes. The question bank is good, but it doesn't take long to go through the Q's- I think there are 50 long form and about the same short form. There are 3 mocks in the back though which is helpful. The I-Pass cd is basically a cd full of questions that you can do either in topic chunks or randomly. It's not as helpful as I would've hoped, but it's another source of Q's so in that way it is.

I have nothing to compare with, so can't say if BPP are any better than say Tolleys- but I haven't had a problem with BPP material and, like you, I used it for the whole of AAT too.

My training provider gave me, and marked, two progress tests and one mock test. And access to a tutor, which I haven't used, other than to send my tests to. But not anything else.

If I were to start again, I think I would've gone with Tolleys as my learning provider, but not because of any preference over the materials.

    B xx
