I have bought the sage payroll bundle for £156 inc postage and vat.

This includes stage 1 & 2 and certification on both stages.

I will install the software tomorrow and if people want me to let them know how i am doing i can let them know here.

Well i got off to a slow start as i could not get the install wizard to load, after contacting sage support i found out it was my dvd drive that was at fault.
I went out and bought an external dvd re-writer for £45 and i now have sage payroll up and running ready for me to learn.

Well over the weekend i studied the first of 3 books for stage 1 and took an online test which i got 80% in.

I am now getting stuck into book 2 and this should take me about 48/72 hrs to do at most.

    Hi Omega Man

Interesting stuff. Where did you go to get the Sage package?

Diddy Mau - I got it from the sage website directly. I have taken an online test on book 2, got 70%. Today i should finish book 3 and take that online test, hopefully an exam at the end of this week.

    Thanks for that.
I've looked into Manual payroll, but your post sounded interesting & cheap

    Diddly Mau,
It's even cheaper if you buy from a specialist Sage reseller rather than Sage Direct. And cheaper still if you buy the 2011 workbooks (though don't know if the package has changed in the last 2 years). I think I paid £135 all in for the 2013 workbooks and certification.

I took the online test for book 3 and got 90% and also the diagnostic test and got 26/28.
I took the exam tonight and it is alot harder although u can refer to your books, there are 56 questions in 60 minutes so time is crucial.
I get a result in the next 10 days meanwhile i can crack on with stage 2 from tomorrow.

Well i kicked on with stage 2 and took the exam and hey presto i have passed both stages.
My certificates both came together today from sage, they are valid for 2 years.
I will now upgrade my C.V. and increase my chances of getting a job.

this is encouraging as i just purchased the package today to teach myself as another one of our offices wanted £500 for a days tuition so i told my boss im happy to study this method if he will pay, so hes reimbursing me for the package and giving me a few afternoons to do this as the second payroll lady at works gone off ill so im taking over along side doing aat level 4. would you say that it is easy to pick up? i have no prior knowledge of payroll
