can anyone help. Investment income section :<BR><BR>can anyone help me establish where the figure 80 comes from. If this is a dumb question, please forgive me, We are half way through the term, lost both tutors and way way behind in this unit being exam'd in Dec. trying to make ground with home study but text presumes I know more than I do. thankyou.

    thanks for reply. I get so close to cracking it and then try another question and go straight back to square one again. I know its because I havent got 100 % understanding, i.e. FRS2 quote "a parent undertaking is also treated as teh parent undertaking of the subsindary undertakings of its subsidiary undertakings (a subsidiary)" unquote. I applaude technical language of exptertise but cant get my head round that one.

    i know what you mean, there's so much jargon to learn with the FRS's, dont know how am going to be able to do it in approx. 3 wks.<BR><BR>Let me know how you get on though, its interesting to see how other students are getting on 2, am finding this technician stage a bit of a struggle, especially tryin to learn evrythn wen the exam is only a coupl of wk's away

    why dont you try going on the website "www.accountingtechnician.co.uk".<BR><BR>There study zone has some of the FRS's in much simpler terms that deal with group accounts, for example FRS2. You may understand it better if you go on this website. Also, you could try the ASB's website, which is www.asb.org, this deals with all the FRS's and SSAP's that we need to know.<BR><BR>I hope this helps<BR><BR>somayya

    I cant do this anymore. The BPP books have errors in them which have driven me crazy. the pace is too fast. I feel totally let down.

    u can do it, i know it's difficult, believe me i know (am findin it diffclt, especaily as our tutor at col is jst hopeless), but if u keep at it and dont give up, u'l get thru it.<BR><BR>wot is it dat ur findin difficult? mayb i can help? i know am no xprt, but i dont think you should give up

    the problem is that we only started the week before half term 'real' and are working toward the exam in dec . coming from intermediate class that was basically do it yourself. Luckily we passed but the jump to technician level is significant under these circumstances. The problem is getting used to the computations in the BPP book which even our present tutor seems to have difficulty in reconcilling to us. I learn from example and if you cant take an example from the book and understand it you get deeper and deeper into confusion. Do you know .... we have the understanding that the standards state that partnership acounts wont be in the new standards, however, the cd says that they could be in the exam. As there are no examples in the BPP book it is a bit confusing. PS are you learning via evening or day release. We do two nights a week for three hours. I wonder if the tutors get onlinand see what we are writing. <BR>PS I wish I hadnt logged on as aatsutdent - makes me sound really boring!

    Is that true that we can be tested on partnerships? I thought that under the new standards it was Ltd companies?

    under the old standards, its mre bout prtnrships, but under the new standrds its bout limited companies. (i hope so neway)<BR><BR>i go to college on day release, strt at bout 9 til 4, evry monday. it wud hv been ok, but snce we got a new tutor, she dont knw wot she on bout n av had 2 end up teachin maself evrythng, which is provin 2 b a bt of a struggle, considerin the xm is only a few wk's away.<BR><BR>Bout loggin on as aatstudnt, y dnt u try chngn ur profile?<BR><BR>Neway, gud luk, let m knw how u get on, am gna nd mre than luk 2 pas dis xm
