PEV exam December

PEV will be very similar to previous MCV papers

Task 1 Will be a variance analysis question which will almost certainly ask for an operating statement. The format is either a budget and actual set of results, followed by your analysis of variances, or a standard cost card and a set of actual results.
Task 1.2 will develop the points from the first part, the examiner regularly asks you top split one or two variances into the parts caused by different factors. Also look out for the possibility of an ABC question where you can explore problems of apportioning overheads under traditional absorption costing.

Task 2 will start with a set of performance indicators and ask you to find the ratios.
Task 2.2 can either ask you to model a ratio for the company under review using another set of ratios, or might look at non-financial indicators as measures of performance as you might find in the balanced scorecard

I will be revising this paper on Saturday 29 Nov in a college in Oxford, there are still spaces available if you wish to join in NAT, but please let me know as soon as possible.

sandy.hood@chichester.ac.uk

Sandy
