Does anyone know the reason why a debtors figure would be showing as a minus under the current assets in a monthly balance sheet?<BR><BR>Ta

    Hi Leanne.<BR><BR>I don't really see how Debtors could be a minus figure, unless somebody had overpaid and this money was on 'account'.<BR><BR>Sorry I couldn't be anymore help. Scotty.

    If debtors had overpaid so that they had a credit balance they wouldn't be shown as debtors but included as creditors.<BR><BR>I don't see how debtors could be a minus - are you sure there isn't an error in the balance sheet?

    I think this can be the case if the debtor paid his account and afterwards there is a credit note issued for this debtor. Another possible reason, i think, would be a debt written off which has been paid and not yet allocated. This may happen if there is a computerised accounting system and invoices written off does not appear in the debtor's account.
