So how are everyone's exams going so far? Did anyone on here sit P3 today?
I had the nightmare situation of opening up the question paper and seeing a part question I had absolutely no idea about! Even when I came to answer it I still hadn't thought of even one sentence I could write so had to just leave a blank page. I couldn't believe it, that's the first time in all my exams I haven't even been able to attempt a part question. At least it was only a 10 mark question, so now I need to score 50/90. The mathematician inside me really enjoyed the linear regression part of question 2 - I jumped right in there, and I think question 3 on the gardens went ok as that seemed quite similar to a practice question I'd looked at, and there were a lot of suggestions in the scenario. I didn't really like question 1 (I attempted it second) - it was Porter's diamond I couldn't even attempt to answer. I looked it up on my revision cards afterwards, and even if I'd had the diagram to hand I still don't think I couldn't answered the question as I just didn't understand it at all! I didn't have any time left at the end, even with missing a full question out, so I hope I haven't just written a complete load of tosh and there's enough in there to get enough marks.
Good luck for anyone still to sit exams this week.

Hi Rozzi,
Sorry to hear things went a bit wrong for you in P3.
I'm still in the F papers and did my F9 on Friday. Really not sure how I did and have that awful feeling I may fall short on this one.
I would try and remain positive about your exam though. You can still get enough marks to pass if you have answered the other sections well.
I remember I had a nightmare in parts of F5 and still passed with plenty of marks to spare.
Personally I'm not sure if I'm going to have enough aptitude to cope with the professional papers. I feel the F papers are already pushing my fragile brain as far as it will go lol.
Good luck Rozzi

Hi Rozzi,
Sorry to hear about that. Its terrible to open up a paper and get stuck like that. Please God you'll do well on it!

Thank you Mark and Kevin for your positivity :-)
Don't give up on the Professional papers yet Mark without even trying one! By the sounds of what you've posted on here in the past you've scored well over 50 in the F papers, so it sounds like you do have the aptitude. I think it's easy to forget, especially when self studying, that we don't need to know everything about everything - the pass mark isn't 100%. In fact we can get as much wrong as we get right and pass with 50%. I think if we try and know something about as many areas as we can we can give ourselves a good shot at them!!0 -
Hi, I sat F6 Tax and F4 Law. Not sure on how I feel. It is still a big jump up from AAT. So much to learn. I find the questions that I can answer never come up !!!! Just will have to wait until February. At least I can start to enjoy Christmas now x0

F5 for me. I've done 8 of the F papers so far and felt less prepared for this one than any of the others. So I was pleasantly surprised to find it was probably the most straightforward paper yet. Definitely easier than all the past papers I'd practiced.0

Out of interest...how many of the papers are computer based tests? I much prefer doing exams on computer and it seems to be moving more in that direction..!!.0

Fingers crossed for you Mark, Kirsty and Nps that you get the results you're hoping for.
Kevin, it's only the F1-3 papers that are computer based, and they're the ones you'll be exempt from if you've completed AAT.
I'm so relieved to not have to worry about P3 anymore until at least March (if I do need to resit that's when classes start) and I can now say I'm studying P6 (although I'm giving myself Christmas and New Year off and will actually begin in January). I've been looking forward to taking P6 (advanced tax) ever since I took F6 which was my first paper, and it's been that thought which kept me going through P3!!
Hope you can all enjoy a break over Christmas.0 -
Thanks for the positive thoughts Rozzi.
I've just put F9 behind me now until the results day in February next year. Just have to wait and see what happens.
I've just bought and received my F7 book from BPP today and going to get stuck in at the end of the week. It looks a tough paper from the quick look I've had.
I used Kaplan books last year but was really unhappy with the quality of their materials.
