Hi,
I haven't registered with ACCA, because I am waiting on my last/final exam results (AAT Level 4) which I gave last week Jan 22nd.
I only work part time, but have set aside time to focus on my ACCA certification...So, I am planning to prepare and revise for 3 exams in ACCA skills module - as I am wanting to sit for 3 papers in Jun '14....Any suggestion of which papers/units I can follow...Also, if anyone is welling to sell their books/materials (syllabus for Jun '14 exams), I would be grateful....

Regards,
Aravind

    Hi Aravind

Firstly I would check with the ACCA when the deadline to register as a student to sit your first exam in June is - although there is still plenty of time for existing students to apply for the June exams, new students have to already be registered by a certain date. When I joined ACCA in 2010, I believe it was the end of December for sitting the June exams, but this may have changed since then.

I would recommened starting with F5 and F6. I wouldn't recommend taking 3 in your first sitting as it's quite a jump up from AAT. I took AAT under the old syllabus, and F5 followed on very well from the costing papers, and F6 very well from the personal and business tax papers. F4 will be new to you for ACCA and is a written paper, which can make a nice change to do with F5 or F6. F7 follows on well from AAT but it one of the harder papers, as is F9. I didn't take audit at AAT so don't know how well F8 follows on, but this could be an option if you enjoyed audit at AAT.

If you don't have any joy getting second hand books, I recommend Amazon. They're often cheaper than BPP and with free postage if you're prepared to wait a few days. Also if you have an NUS card (which ACCA students are entitled to) you get student discount as well. Just be careful you are ordering the most up to date book as they often list earlier editions as well.

    Good luck!
