Hi All,

Not sure if this is the correct place to post but I am looking for some advice.
I have approached my boss several times with issues I have found like invoices not being posted to the ledger but put on as cash book payments (so not accounted for as payables) and bank payments on wrong bank etc - This is making the banking hell in our company as we have 20 mil turn over and around 18 bank accounts.
Also accruals are having to be made every month for rent (not paid) and AM's have been complaining about other issues regarding invoices not being paid.
My boss dismisses any complaint me and my colleagues have as she is very good friends with the lady making the errors. My boss keeps saying we are creating a blame culture, but is not actually sitting her down and retraining her to get it right next time.
Balance sheet recs have also become impossible as the reconciliations are just not being done. (Petty cash for around 25 currency's)
My question is what can I do? If my boss takes no notice and my stress levels are becoming unbearable as my deadlines are becoming tighter and Im having to spend more time on things which should be simple recs fixing others errors?
I've considered leaving, but why should I? I loved my job before all these issues arose and Im a Cima student sponsored by my employer.
any advice given would be much appreciated.

N xx

Could you approach your boss to offer to retrain the lady yourself?

Take a professional approach, the problem is evident between yourself and several of your colleagues now it's your job to let management know. Make you own notes, screenshots, record of feedback even the date and time you've provided the feedback, spend time with the lady teaching her, record every minute you've spent training her etc.

When your list evidence portfolio is of substantial value, present it to your manager and say "look, I've done everything possible, look at the mistakes she makes sti - what do you propose we do now?". By which time management should decide on training her further or firing her.

Don't start showing your colleagues your evidence because it's for management eyes and you don't want to go any deeper into this 'blame culture' they've mentioned.

It's one thing to identify a problem and another to find a solution.

He makkusu, sorry for late reply, not been online in a while. I actually left my company in the end, I'd tried everything , but every time I offered to help the lady, etc I was shot down and told to fix it myself. I've now found another position closer to home which is great. Wash We my hands of the politics! Thanks for the advice tho, Nic x
